Hello Everyone
Please find below information from Damian Prescott on some events he is involved in to raise money for the Cancer Council. Please read and if you feel you can contribute then that would be greatly appreciated.
Dear All,
The SHITBOX Rally is now only weeks away! To date we have raised over $7500.00 towards the Cancer Council.
THANK YOU to all the people (Companies) who have donated to date, your support is appreciated.
But we want to raise more money, so we are reaching out to people to donate to my walk on Saturday the 14th September.
I plan to walk 30 (40?) kms and am asking people to donate per kilometre or make an overall donation to our cause.
If you would like further information about our event (SHITBOX Rally) the details are below, along with the link to make a donation.
Thank you again for your kind support – WALK ON!
Regards
TEAM SPUDDY
Summary of our cause
Dear All
We are really pleased to announce that we’re taking part in Spring 2019 SHITBOX RALLY!! This year, all the teams are driving their Shitboxes from Melbourne to Townsville, via Birdsville…
We are reaching out to you all to support TEAM SPUDDY, I am sure you have either been affected by losing a family member or someone close to you from cancer like we have.
Over the past number of years together we have lost a Mother, Mother in Law, Father in Law and numerous close friends.
But it wasn’t until we lost someone our own age, someone we had grown up with, that it really hit home.
This to acknowledge the life of Gary (Spuddy) Cullen who passed away from cancer on the 1st September 2016, aged 51.
Gary Saultry and Damian Prescott wanted to find some way of raising funds for cancer after Gary’s death, therefore enrolling in the Shitbox Rally Event in 2016.
After many applications TEAM SPUDDY was accepted in July 2018 to participate in the Spring 2019 SHITBOX RALLY, Melbourne to Townsville.
We thank you in advance for your support and donations to TEAM SPUDDY. All support provided will not be just for one person, it will be in memory of all our loved ones that have suffered from this disease.
Shitbox Rally is the largest community lead fundraiser for the Cancer Council in Australia and is now in its 10th year. Part of the participation is that all teams have to raise a minimum of $5,000 but most teams raise well above this amount as you can see with the 2019 Spring rally target set at $2,000,000 plus.
These funds go to the Cancer Council and we are extremely proud to be doing our part to support such a worthy charity. The fundraising is the hard part, so any donation you can give is greatly appreciated. Please make sure to follow our progress via this page and the blog post below.
